The whole pack of over-eager Democratic candidates for President that
has emerged to date looks really bad. Kerry is about the best of them,
but I think he's history and has a way of shooting himself in the foot.
Vilsack, Bayh,Biden, Clinton, Richardson. There's just nothing there.
Vilsack and Bayh are hopelessly conservative. Biden is a creature of
the corporations, and Clinton, well...we know what she's like-a trimmer,
a compromiser, she has no real core of beliefs, just wants to be President.
Edwards is compromised by his support for the war, which the people
have totally repudiated. Obama is a pretty face and not much more, at
least to the extent he reveals what he is. He says he was against the
war since the beginning, but we don't really know that. We do know he
voted against the Kerry amendment which would have deployed U.S. forces
out of Iraq. That was his only key vote in the Senate on the war, to
my knowledge, and he was on the wrong side. Too young and inexperienced,
also. Not one clearly progressive name has emerged as a possible candidate.
Kerry is the most so, but too much baggage, too many mistakes. Where
is Al Gore when we need him? -Rob Moir
